Antrax
by Terry Brooks
Book One of The Voyage of the Jerle Shannara
1. Ilse Witch
2. Antrax
3. Morgawr
Antrax is the sequel to Ilse Witch, and the second book of the trilogy, The Voyage of the Jerle Shannara.
We found out, during the Ilse Witch, that something seems to have lured our unwitting travelers to this distant land of unknown magic and intrigue. The power of this land has attacked our little group, scattering them far and wide, susceptible to the dangers of this mysterious place.
Antrax is certainly a power to be reckoned with, though it has no possession of human emotion and is entirely a creature of logic. It knows what it needs, and is prepared to do anything to gain the powers of its prey. Meanwhile, the Ilse Witch has certainly not given up on grasping this power for her own, but Bek Rowe may have quite a surprise for her in the end. And of the elven prince? Would a spy give her life for him?
Terry Brooks carries us along on one of the most tragic of his stories. Death and sadness are everywhere, but there is still a ray of hope - mostly brought on by the indefatigable band of Rovers. Beating past crews of Mwellrets, outrunning horrific creatures, and banding with the natives of this land, our travelers seek to leave unscathed, but know that this will not happen. And what of this powerful magic? Can Walker Boh seize this for the good of the Four Lands and make good his vision of a Third Druid Council?
