The Sword Of Shannara

by Terry Brooks

Book Two of Shannara

1. First King of Shannara
2. Sword of Shannara
3. The Elfstones of Shannara
4. The Wishsong of Shannara

Long ago, the wars of the ancient Evil ruined the world. In peaceful Shady Vale, half-elfin Shea Ohmsford knows little of such troubles. But the supposedly dead Warlock Lord is plotting to destroy everything in his wake. The sole weapon against this Power of Darkness is the Sword of Shannara, which can be used only by a true heir of Shannara. On Shea, last of the bloodline, rests the hope of all the races.

Personal Rating: 9
The Sword of Shannara was the very first Terry Brooks book I read. I had thought that nothing could rival Lord of the Rings, but I was wrong. Shannara is a deep, rich world that grabs the reader and transports him/her to a magical world of conspiracies, spells, and real people, while not forgetting the very ingredients which make a good fantasy great.

Content Rating: E
If you have a tending toward fantasy, then this book is definitely something you don’t want to miss.
